  • Integrate FPGA IP blocks into complete designs for quantum control system subsystems and external interfaces.
  • Evaluate and plan technical solutions with FPGA, hardware, software, firmware, physics, and quantum error correction specialists.
  • Optimize data throughput, latency, FPGA resource usage, and real-time system performance.
  • Align interfaces, communication protocols, and documentation with software, firmware, and hardware stakeholders.
  • Share knowledge with domain experts and contribute to reliable tooling and engineering practices.

Requirements

  • Experience designing FPGA IP blocks in HDL and validating designs through simulation.
  • At least 1 year of professional engineering experience.
  • BSc or MSc in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proficient VHDL skills and experience with high-performance FPGA families and modern toolchains.
  • Strong understanding of digital logic fundamentals, including clock domains and safe signal transfers.
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines in a low-hierarchy environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Intel/Altera FPGAs and Quartus.
  • Knowledge of high-speed communication protocols and hardware-software interfaces.
  • Scripting experience for tool-flow automation and continuous integration.
  • Hands-on laboratory measurement experience with oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
  • Experience profiling, benchmarking, and optimizing real-time systems.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work on full-stack quantum computing, from quantum hardware to software layers.
  • Hybrid work setup and flexible hours.
  • Flat hierarchy with approachable leadership and direct access to decision-makers.
  • Collaborative environment spanning engineering, physics, and quantum science.
  • Opportunities to publish papers, participate in hackathons, and contribute to the wider quantum ecosystem.
