IP & Design Engineering Intern (RF/mm-Wave)

Location: Richardson, Texas, USA; onsite

What you will do

• Design and tape out mm-Wave reference circuits on internal test chips and multi-project wafers.
• Use Cadence-based EDA tools for schematic design, physical layout, parasitic extraction, and pre- and post-layout simulations.
• Perform electromagnetic simulations and optimize circuits to meet performance requirements.
• Collaborate with design leads across multiple concurrent projects.
• Follow Environmental, Health, Safety and Security requirements.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Understanding of transistor-level circuit design and experience with RF/mm-Wave circuit design.
• Proficiency with Cadence-based EDA tools.
• Written and verbal English fluency required.
• Availability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.

Nice to have

• Background in RF, mm-Wave, mixed-signal, or analog IC design.
• Knowledge of RF transceiver building blocks such as PA, LNA, VCO, PLL, mixer, and VGA.
• Knowledge of RF CMOS technologies, including bulk and SOI.
• Prior internship or co-op experience, leadership experience, project management, communication, planning, and organizational skills.
