Medical Director

Location: Brookline, United States; work is on-site.

Base salary: $195,000–$210,000 per year. Additional equity, bonus, and variable compensation may apply.

What you will do

• Diagnose and treat pets with illnesses and injuries and counsel clients on pet care.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 1–5 doctors, including clinical skills, performance, and professional growth.
• Partner with medical, talent, operations, nursing, and practice management leaders on recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, communication, and clinical coverage.
• Serve as the clinical point of contact for escalated medical questions and ensure service accessibility aligns with member needs.
• Monitor practice financial performance and work with leadership on budget and revenue targets.
• Manage controlled substances, review medical supplies, and ensure compliance with DEA, OSHA, medical protocols, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent.
• Active state and DEA licenses required.
• 5+ years of veterinary experience.
• Experience managing a team and mentoring veterinarians.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
