Senior Embedded Linux Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Own the embedded Linux platform, including the bootloader, kernel, device tree, root filesystem, and update mechanism.
• Bring up custom hardware from first power-up to reliable customer-site operation alongside electrical engineers.
• Develop and maintain Linux kernel drivers connecting LiDAR, cameras, GNSS, hydraulics, and other sensors to the autonomy stack.
• Collaborate across Hardware, Firmware, Autonomy, and Perception teams as the low-level interface between hardware and software.
• Drive OTA update and recovery strategies for machines deployed worldwide.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and implement security hardening, including secure boot, disk encryption, container isolation, and vulnerability patching.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience with NVIDIA Jetson platforms and the JetPack/L4T ecosystem.
• Deep knowledge of Linux kernel internals, including device drivers, device trees, interrupt handling, memory management, and scheduling.
• Experience bringing up custom hardware and working with pin muxing, clocks, regulators, PCIe, USB, I2C, SPI, UART, CSI, and Ethernet.
• Strong understanding of circuit diagrams and digital electronics, with the ability to distinguish driver bugs from hardware faults.
• Good written and spoken English is required.

Nice to have

• Yocto, Buildroot, nixOS, or bootc experience.
• Power, thermal, or performance optimization on resource-constrained SoCs.
• CI/CD, Git, and automated build and deployment experience.
• Experience with JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Safety-critical firmware or robotics middleware experience, including iceoryx2 or DDS.
