Senior Manager, Perception (AI)

Location: On-site in Washington, DC; San Diego, California; Boston, Massachusetts; or Dallas, Texas

Salary: $229,233–$343,849 per year, plus bonus, benefits, and equity for regular full-time employees

What you will do

• Lead autonomy, integration, and testing teams while aligning technical efforts and resolving cross-functional challenges.
• Develop production-quality C++ software for perception, state estimation, and sensor fusion.
• Build Assured Position, Navigation, and Timing systems for reliable autonomy in GNSS-degraded or denied environments.
• Extend state-estimation frameworks for new sensors, platforms, and missions.
• Develop test code, analyzers, benchmarks, and sensor models using simulated and real-world data.
• Collaborate with hardware and test teams to validate algorithms on aerial platforms.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience with an advanced degree, including at least 2 years managing technical teams.
• Experience integrating sensor payloads in the DoD environment and working with sensor fusion for noisy, high-bandwidth exteroceptive sensors on compute-constrained systems.
• Strong foundations in state estimation, object detection, data association, probabilistic robotics, and signal processing.
• Experience leading projects with 10 or more contributors, developing and debugging software-based algorithms, and working in Unix environments.
• Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance, subject to a cleared background and possible reference check.

Nice to have

• Experience with autonomous behavior development, unmanned air systems, and related algorithms.
• Familiarity with high-fidelity simulation, sensor modeling, Kalman filters, factor graphs, and modern estimator fundamentals.
• Hands-on computer vision experience with OpenCV or similar libraries.
• Experience developing object detection and recognition pipelines or sensor-effects algorithms.
• Active SECRET clearance and experience with UCI and OMS standards.
