Senior Mission Concept Engineer

What you will do

• Lead the design of complex missions across Earth observation, telecommunications, and technology demonstration.
• Define mission architectures spanning space, ground, and launch segments.
• Engage institutional and commercial customers to refine requirements and shape technically robust solutions.
• Lead or contribute to mission proposals, including technical definition, cost realism, feasibility assessments, and concept iteration.
• Support consortium formation and coordinate partnerships across the space mission value chain.
• Develop tools and models to assess mission performance, risk, cost, and schedule, while mentoring team members and advancing mission design capabilities.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience defining and analysing complex space missions across the full mission lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of areas such as constellation sizing, orbital analysis, payload integration, communications, AOCS, or system trades.
• Specialisation in a mission domain, such as embedded software, satellite operations, mission control systems, or flight dynamics.
• Experience leading technical workstreams or proposals in commercial or institutional contexts, including ESA, UKSA, or EC programmes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and storytelling skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
• Legal right to work in the chosen location is required. CV submission must be in English.
