What you will do

• Own the shop floor for one or more primary structure assembly work centers, remove barriers, and keep production moving.
• Drive process improvements across work centers using lessons from the first Terran R build.
• Partner with design, manufacturing, and reliability engineers, production teams, and external vendors to advance builds.
• Write work instructions, specifications, and best practices for high-fidelity manufacturing processes and standardize them across the team.
• Provide design-for-manufacturing feedback to structures teams from development through prototype and flight builds.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, aerospace, mechanical, or another engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of related experience for the senior level.
• Hands-on experience supporting complex assembly builds, including making risk-based decisions to disposition issues and maintain production flow.
• Strong knowledge of statics, mechanics of materials, process improvement, factory design, fastening and joining, and machining.
• Working knowledge of drilling and trimming operations, tooling, inspection methods, and GD&T.
• Ability to collaborate across engineering and manufacturing, understand process constraints, and provide manufacturability feedback in a high-pressure environment.

Nice to have

• Direct experience with drilling, trimming, and fastening operations on aerospace products.
• Experience introducing an aerospace hardware system into manufacturing, testing, and production.
• Project management experience in a fast-paced environment.
