What you will do

  • Design and build electrical and mechanical test rigs for characterizing quantum devices.
  • Develop test plans and protocols to validate device and electronics system performance.
  • Conduct experimental testing of electronics systems for quantum hardware.
  • Collaborate with device designers and electronics engineers to improve test coverage and compatibility with emerging quantum chip architectures.
  • Evaluate testing methodologies and improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Document test procedures, results, and findings for reproducibility and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Strong electronics capabilities, including PCB layout and schematic design with ECAD tools such as Altium.
  • Mechanical CAD proficiency for designing precision fixtures and test rigs.
  • Experience with multiplexers, VNAs, TDRs, oscilloscopes, and high-frequency electrical signal measurement.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems and FPGA-based control for automated testing.
  • Strong technical writing, documentation, and multidisciplinary communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electronics engineering or a related discipline.

Nice to have

  • Experience testing sensitive quantum devices at cryogenic temperatures.
  • Background in RF engineering, metrology, or instrumentation.
  • Experience developing automated testing frameworks with Python or MATLAB.
  • Familiarity with LabVIEW and understanding of EMC and high-speed digital design constraints.
