What you will do

• Design and optimize motor and actuator architectures for drone and robotic applications.
• Develop electrical, mechanical, and thermal motor design specifications.
• Simulate and analyze motor performance using specialized engineering software.
• Collaborate with Field Applications Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
• Support prototyping, testing, validation, and continuous improvement of motor designs.
• Document design processes, test results, and design revisions while tracking emerging technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in motor or actuator design, preferably in drone, robotics, or aerospace applications.
• Strong knowledge of electric motor theory, electromagnetic design, thermal management, and mechanical design.
• Proficiency with FEMM, ANSYS Maxwell, or equivalent motor design and simulation software.
• Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or CATIA.
• Authorization to work in the United States is required.

Nice to have

• Experience designing brushless DC motors, actuators, or similar electromechanical devices.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes for motor components and assemblies.
• Hands-on prototype testing and validation experience.
• Familiarity with drone or robotics industry requirements and standards.
