TL;DR
Software Engineer - Validation & Simulation (Robotics) (Python/C++/Rust): Building automated validation infrastructure, simulation integrations, and regression pipelines for industrial robots with an accent on firmware, controls, runtime behavior, and simulated sensor inputs. Focus on creating repeatable tests from real-world failures, analyzing regressions across software and hardware, and driving validation issues to closure during integration and assembly.

What you will do

  • Design and build automated test suites for firmware, controls, and runtime behavior in software-in-the-loop environments.
  • Integrate simulation inputs and dynamic models, including simulated camera feeds, so software teams can develop without physical hardware.
  • Own regression test infrastructure for result analysis, failure triage, and coverage tracking across firmware, controls, runtime, and hardware.
  • Collaborate with firmware, controls, and runtime engineers to define testability requirements and convert real-world failures into repeatable automated tests.
  • Drive validation burn-down during integration and assembly milestones and track issues to closure across teams.

Requirements

  • Technical degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience demonstrating exceptional ability.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, fluency in Python, and comfort with C, C++, or Rust for firmware-level debugging.
  • Experience building validation, simulation, or test infrastructure for physical systems such as robots, motors, or actuators.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and understanding complete systems beyond an individual component.
  • Experience with robotics middleware or runtime systems such as ROS2, or similar technologies.

Nice to have

  • Experience with dynamic modeling or simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, MuJoCo, or Gazebo.
  • Familiarity with functional safety standards including IEC 61508, ISO 13849, or ISO 26262.
  • Experience with oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analyzers, JTAG, or SWD.
  • Experience with agent-driven coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor.
