Lead Product Manager, Recommendations (AI)

Location: Primary residence required in or near approved cities in the United States, Canada, or Mexico; occasional in-person attendance is required.

Salary: $151,000–$244,000 annually in the United States outside California; $177,000–$256,000 annually in California; CAD 179,000–CAD 228,000 annually in Canada. The role is also eligible for equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the long-term recommendations strategy and multi-year roadmap across candidate generation, ranking, and results presentation.
• Partner with ML Engineering and Applied Research to translate retrieval and ranking research into production personalization systems.
• Define and monitor recommendation metrics including engagement, click-through, content completion, conversion, and retention.
• Balance incremental relevance improvements and revenue goals with development of an extensible recommendations platform.
• Combine experiments, behavioral analytics, user interviews, and customer feedback to guide prioritization and feature design.
• Align product, engineering, design, content, and executive stakeholders around requirements, timelines, deliverables, and impact.

Requirements

• 8+ years of product management experience, including 4+ years leading recommendations or search products in high-traffic consumer environments.
• Experience shipping ML-driven features that improved engagement, conversion, or revenue at scale.
• Deep familiarity with retrieval and ranking algorithms, embeddings, and feature stores.
• Ability to shape multi-year product vision, work through ambiguity, and align cross-functional teams.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including product briefs and data-backed presentations to senior leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with LLM-powered workflows, SQL copilots, and AI tools for productivity and analytics.
• Experience designing LLM- and GenAI-enhanced discovery experiences.
• Familiarity with modern MLOps tooling.
