General Mechanic (Industrial Maintenance)

Location: Circleville, Ohio, United States; onsite plant work. Rotating shifts, possible weekend work, overtime, and on-call support are required.

Starting wage: $38.21 per hour, with progression to $41.68 per hour within the first year based on performance, experience, and completed skills demonstrations.

What you will do

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, install, modify, and upgrade mechanical systems and industrial equipment.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Use precision measurement tools to fit bearings and align gears, shafts, couplings, belts, and other components to precise tolerances.
• Read blueprints, schematics, manuals, P&IDs, and equipment specifications to diagnose problems.
• Fabricate and install non-welded piping systems, including valves, supports, hangers, and brackets.
• Perform safe rigging, basic welding, maintenance documentation, and root-cause analysis of equipment failures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of relevant industrial experience, including related military experience, or equivalent technical or vocational education.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including motors, gearboxes, pumps, and conveyors.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends when required, overtime, and off-hours callouts supporting 24/7 plant operations.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including respirators, chemical suits, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and a hard hat.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work for extended periods standing, sitting, or walking, climb stairs and ladders, and work in confined spaces, at heights, and in industrial environments.

Nice to have

• Plant maintenance or construction experience.
• Technical or vocational training.
• SAP experience.
