Intern - Biochar Sourcing & Science (100%)

Location: Zurich, Switzerland; hybrid setup with onsite work at least three days per week

Salary: CHF 2,000 per month during BSc or MSc studies; CHF 2,500 per month after completing an MSc

hirify.global develops carbon removal solutions and works with biomass-based carbon removal pathways, including biochar and BECCS.

What you will do

• Map global BECCS and biochar projects, including their status, geography, feedstock, technology, certification pathways, delivery profiles, pricing, and commercial readiness.
• Support supplier outreach, establish initial relationships with project developers, and maintain structured follow-ups.
• Review technical documents, evaluate suppliers and carbon removal projects, and prepare project summaries and marketing materials.
• Gather and organise documentation, coordinate supplier inputs, identify information gaps, and support extended due diligence.
• Improve project data quality across Salesforce and internal databases to strengthen sourcing decisions, customer RFPs, and market intelligence.

Requirements

• Recent graduate or current BSc or MSc student in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Climate Finance, or a related field, seeking a six-month internship.
• Strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, scientific rigour, and commercial judgement when working with large amounts of project, supplier, and market data.
• Interest in climate solutions and carbon removal.
• Organised and proactive working style, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams independently and engage confidently with external stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are required.
• Applicants must be an EU or EFTA citizen or already hold a Swiss work permit.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with biomass, biochar, BECCS, energy markets, sustainability, or voluntary carbon markets.
