Senior ML Engineer (AI Platform)

Location: Hybrid, 3 days in office at CNBC Headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey

Salary: USD 140,000–175,000 yearly

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate production-grade ML systems, LLM workflows, and supporting infrastructure.
• Deliver AI features end to end, including data pipelines, training workflows, inference, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Contribute to architecture, technical standards, product, engineering, and modeling decisions.
• Identify and mitigate AI-system risks such as performance regressions, bias, and operational issues.
• Improve model lifecycle management, monitoring, evaluation, reliability, and system quality.
• Participate in code reviews and incident retrospectives while mentoring peers and supporting technical growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of software engineering experience focused on machine learning or AI systems.
• Experience building and operating production ML systems and contributing to system design and technical decisions.
• Strong proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or Java.
• Experience with LLMs, ranking or recommendation systems, search, or applied NLP.
• Understanding of deep learning and representation learning, with experience using TensorFlow or PyTorch and building human-in-the-loop training or evaluation workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience with neural networks such as CNNs, RNNs, Transformers, or other deep learning architectures.
• Background in NLP techniques including tokenization, sequence labeling, language modeling, embeddings, text classification, and information extraction.
• Genuine interest in investing, public markets, and fundamental business analysis.
