PMTS Application Engineering (MIPS)

Location: Seoul; customer engagements within Korea, with travel of up to 30% within Japan.

What you will do

• Act as the primary technical interface for customers during pre-sales and early development.
• Guide customer engineering teams through MIPS processor IP integration, software toolchains, development environments, and system architecture.
• Support evaluations, proposals, RFIs, presentations, workshops, demonstrations, and customer training to secure design wins and transition projects into execution.
• Troubleshoot customer issues across hardware and software domains and coordinate resolutions with internal engineering teams.
• Partner with Business Development from opportunity creation through closure and translate customer requirements into product and engineering feedback.
• Support ecosystem partners and position MIPS solutions within the semiconductor ecosystem.

Requirements

• BSEE required; MSEE preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in SoC/ASIC design and architecture.
• Good understanding of RISC and DSP processor architectures.
• Good communication and presentation skills, including experience working with customers in a pre-sales process.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% within Japan.

Nice to have

• Experience across multiple stages of SoC design, including architecture definition, RTL coding in Verilog, synthesis, and physical design.
• Hands-on experience in embedded system design, debugging, or firmware/software development.
• Understanding of DSP algorithms for wireless communication, LiDAR/RADAR, image processing, and advanced sensors.
• Understanding of AI/ML-based system design and use-case requirements.
• Understanding of SoC design requirements for automotive functional safety.
• Understanding of security concepts and standards-based building blocks for secure SoC design.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to break down complex problems into manageable tasks.
• Ability to communicate technical information in meetings, presentations, seminars, product demonstrations, and customer training, and to guide the sales team.
