Software Engineer (Big Data Processing) (Big Data/Web Applications): Designing and deploying scalable, data-intensive search applications, APIs, and analytics systems for national security with an accent on system reliability, maintainability, and performance. Focus on architecting scalable solutions, building clean and tested software, monitoring mission-critical systems, and tuning capacity for hundreds of analysts.
Location: Singapore, Singapore; on-site. Only Singapore Citizens will be considered.

What you will do
- Design and develop big data analytics systems, web-based search applications, and APIs for retrieving, triaging, and analysing information.
- Build scalable, extensible, and maintainable solutions for mission-critical national security use cases.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineering managers, and stakeholders to deliver impactful software.
- Manage system performance, reliability, sustainability, and software quality through optimisation and testing.
- Explore emerging technologies and deliver proof-of-concepts.
- Monitor system health, resolve issues, support patches, plan capacity, and perform performance tuning.
Requirements
- Background in computer science or an equivalent discipline.
- 3+ years of software engineering experience across the web application stack for consideration at senior level.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented and functional programming paradigms.
- Familiarity with Spring Boot, React, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Oracle or PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, and Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Ability to communicate technical details clearly, with strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Singapore citizenship is required; only Singapore Citizens will be considered.
