Software Engineer (Network Systems)

Location: Singapore, Singapore; on-site. Only Singapore Citizens will be considered.

CSIT develops systems supporting the national security interests of Singapore, including real-time distributed processing and high-speed data pipeline systems.

What you will do

• Identify and prototype products that enhance existing capabilities or create new opportunities.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software solutions.
• Build scalable and robust systems for processing and distributing large volumes of data.
• Develop solutions that interact with and control network equipment.
• Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, and stakeholders to address evolving operational requirements.

Requirements

• Background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, Go, or Java.
• At least 1 year of experience in web application development.
• Familiarity with message brokers, REST API design, and microservices architecture.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, independence, and effective collaboration.
• Singapore citizenship is required; only Singapore Citizens will be considered.

Nice to have

• Experience with DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or GitLab, and with Site Reliability Engineering.
• Familiarity with networking equipment and protocols such as TCP/IP, VLAN, VPN, and DNS.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, sprint planning, backlog maintenance, and Jira.
