Plant Technologist NL (Food Technology)

Location: Enschede, Netherlands; work takes place in the office, production environment, warehouse, and external production locations in the Netherlands and Germany.

Annual base salary: €45,000–€54,000, depending on experience and other factors. The role may also be eligible for bonuses, long-term incentives, and benefits.

What you will do

• Validate and optimize production processes for semi-finished and finished products at hirify.global plants and co-manufacturing locations.
• Manage machine recipes, production checks, and OCAPs while monitoring process performance.
• Identify and implement savings opportunities through waste reduction, increased output, process simplification, and knowledge sharing.
• Analyze downtime, discrepancies, trends, incidents, trials, and disruptions to support root-cause problem solving and performance reporting.
• Lead cross-functional Kaizen and cost-saving projects, implementing actions and technological developments.
• Collaborate with Production, QA, R&D, Engineering, Automation, and Process Technology teams to improve efficiency, quality, and yield.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology or an equivalent field.
• At least five years of relevant experience in a similar food-industry role.
• Knowledge of production processes and HACCP.
• Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma, project management, data analysis, trend analysis, and root-cause analysis.
• Good command of Dutch and English is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel; flexibility to support activities outside standard working hours.

Nice to have

• Technical insight and experience with extrusion and packaging processes.
• Experience in a coaching role.
