Junior AI-Augmented Product Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote in Portugal, with hybrid Lisbon work when needed. EU work eligibility and flexible overlap with US hours required; typical overlap is 2–4 PM Lisbon time.

Salary: €38,250–€45,000 annual base salary, plus equity and eligible bonus or commission incentives.

What you will do

• Partner with the Platform Owner to understand business challenges, stakeholder goals, and priorities for internal go-to-market tools.
• Lead or support requirements discovery, documenting edge cases, success metrics, and constraints.
• Write functional requirements, technical specifications, data flows, acceptance criteria, and architecture notes.
• Translate requirements into precise plans and instructions for AI-assisted implementation, coordinating iterative build-and-verify cycles.
• Review designs and implementations for correctness, maintainability, architecture alignment, and quality.
• Run automated checks such as type checking, linting, and tests; maintain system documentation and improve AI-augmented development processes.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in product engineering, technical product management, solution architecture, or junior full-stack/frontend development.
• Experience gathering requirements, writing functional and technical specifications, and defining acceptance criteria.
• Modern web technology knowledge including React, TypeScript, Node, REST APIs, PostgreSQL, and basic software architecture.
• Comfort with AI-assisted workflows, prompt engineering, LLM-based code or specification generation, and iterative verification.
• Strong analytical, written, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Fluent English required; must be located in Portugal, eligible to work in the EU, and able to support US/EMEA collaboration hours.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, ChatGPT, Vertex AI, RAG, or grounding concepts.
• SaaS product development experience in sales or marketing intelligence, account-based tools, or enterprise data platforms.
• Familiarity with Drizzle ORM, Vite, Express, Google Cloud, Replit, Cursor, or similar AI-coding environments.
• Additional European languages such as French, German, or Spanish.
