Senior GNC Engineer (Propulsive Controls)

Location: Redondo Beach, United States; onsite

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, analyze, and tune robust flight control algorithms for spacecraft, including large upper stages and landers.
• Generate stability analyses and control verification data for propulsive missions.
• Develop flight code and simulation software for GNC systems.
• Create reusable tools for flight-vehicle GNC systems and support rapid mission development.
• Evaluate vehicle performance and verify flight-software implementations in SITL and HITL environments.
• Mentor engineers, define control-system best practices, resolve technical issues, and communicate design intent across engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in propulsive vehicle control design and analysis.
• Proficiency in Matlab and C++.
• Experience with control analysis in time and frequency domains.
• Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an applicable U.S. export license under ITAR/EAR regulations.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with propulsion, vehicle, and GNC design processes from concept through design reviews and implementation.
• Experience with upper-stage or lander control.
• Experience with TVCA, RCS, and slosh modeling.
• Experience in a startup or agile development environment.
