Senior Simulation Engineer

Location: Boulder County, United States; onsite

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop physics-based models of vehicle dynamics, reaction systems, propulsion systems, and other spacecraft subsystems.
• Integrate simulation frameworks into hardware-in-the-loop testbeds and support software-in-the-loop environments.
• Validate simulation models and behaviors against analysis and test data with GNC, software, and test teams.
• Support system-level analysis, trade studies, performance assessments, and mission planning.
• Improve simulation workflows through software and tool development.
• Support flight software verification and participate in simulation reviews, test readiness reviews, and mission dress rehearsals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience modeling and simulating physical systems.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python.
• Strong understanding of dynamics, thermodynamics, and/or fluid mechanics.
• Experience with Git or comparable version control systems and LabView.
• Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain a U.S. export license under ITAR/EAR regulations.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Experience modeling space vehicle dynamics, propulsion, or thermal systems.
• Familiarity with Modelica, Simscape, Amesim, NI-DAQmx APIs, or multidisciplinary simulation tools.
• Experience with software-in-the-loop or hardware-in-the-loop testing environments.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
