Staff - Principal, Software Engineer (SONiC/SAI)

What you will do

• Lead SAI and SONiC SDK development for a performant control-plane stack.
• Define abstraction layers and map hardware capabilities to standardized SAI APIs.
• Collaborate with hardware and software engineers on SDK integration and performance optimization.
• Contribute across the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering through deployment and maintenance.
• Develop automated tests and tools to verify control-plane and SDK quality and functionality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or ECE with 10+ years of experience, or a master’s degree with 5+ years of experience.
• Proficiency in C, C++, and/or Python.
• Experience with embedded software development and debugging.
• Deep understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including BGP, TCP/IP, and Ethernet.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining SDKs, preferably for hardware products.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
