Edge AI Systems Engineer

Location: Hybrid, primarily in person in Austin, Texas; Washington, D.C./Northern Virginia candidates may be considered, and fully remote work may be considered case by case. Travel to the Austin headquarters may be required for candidates outside Austin.

What you will do

• Design low-latency, multi-node communication frameworks for restricted and disconnected environments with AI and network software engineers.
• Quantize, compile, and deploy real-time multi-agent pipelines across diverse edge architectures.
• Develop algorithms for asynchronous multimodal data fusion, tracking, and signal processing.
• Architect and maintain Hardware-in-the-Loop simulation environments for autonomy algorithm testing.
• Lead physical assembly, system calibration, and ruggedized field testing of multi-node prototypes.

Requirements

• Active U.S. security clearance required.
• 6+ years of professional experience in RF and networking architecture, tactical radio systems, physical bench-test simulation environments, and distributed middleware.
• Hands-on experience with at least two of the following: embedded and edge AI systems, computer vision, signal processing, multimedia pipelines, or custom hardware integration.
• Strong understanding of SWaP-C optimization, network partitioning, multi-stream ingestion, and cross-platform development across x86 and Jetson/ARM64.
• Expertise in Python and C++, with deep fluency in Linux.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience or military service.

Nice to have

• Experience developing, testing, or deploying autonomous software on tactical military or defense systems and open architecture standards.
• Experience conducting field validation, site calibration, or operational testing of edge networks and ruggedized hardware.
• Advanced field experience.
