Senior Manager, Data Engineering

Location: Primary residence in or near an approved city in the United States, Canada, or Mexico; occasional in-person attendance is required.

Salary: $154,500–$252,000 USD annually in the United States outside California; California range is $187,000–$265,000, and Canada range is $165,000–$248,000 CAD. The position is also eligible for equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead technical delivery and people management for the Data Engineering team building pipelines, trusted Medallion datasets, and reusable data products.
• Set standards for data modeling, pipeline design, reliability, observability, and operational excellence.
• Guide architecture discussions, design reviews, and major technical decisions.
• Coordinate multiple initiatives, dependencies, priorities, and predictable production delivery.
• Coach and develop Data Engineers while building a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Product, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, and Data Platform teams on scalable data solutions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Platform, or related data roles.
• 3+ years leading engineering teams, including coaching, performance management, and organizational development.
• Expertise in scalable data platforms, production-grade pipelines, dimensional modeling, and data architecture.
• Advanced SQL and strong experience with Python, Scala, or similar programming languages.
• Experience with Spark and modern cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Delta Lake, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
• Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives, architecture discussions, and engineering design reviews.

Nice to have

• Experience with data governance, lineage, or metadata management.
• Experience supporting AI, ML, or analytics workloads through high-quality data foundations.
• Experience in subscription, payments, or consumer product domains.
