New Ventures Principal (AI Healthcare)

Location: Hybrid, based out of either New York City or San Francisco, USA

What you will do

• Identify white space in healthcare and develop high-conviction investment theses for AI-native businesses.
• Generate, validate, and refine differentiated healthcare concepts through conversations with clinicians, operators, payers, and prospective customers.
• Source, attract, and build relationships with exceptional early-stage founders, venture capital firms, healthcare operators, and strategic investors.
• Lead collaborative co-ideation and diligence, evaluate founder-market fit, and shepherd opportunities through the Investment Committee.
• Serve as the primary interface between portfolio founders and Redesign’s platform, providing domain expertise, go-to-market acceleration, fundraising positioning, and governance insight.
• Represent Redesign through a non-controlling board seat where appropriate and support founding teams through critical decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred, with a record of high academic achievement.
• 7+ years of experience, including significant experience in venture capital, company building, or early-stage investing.
• Direct experience evaluating founders and making investment decisions from pre-seed through Series A is strongly preferred.
• Deep healthcare expertise across care delivery, health technology, and healthcare services.
• Fluency in business model analysis, investment thesis development, and financial modeling.
• Strong connectivity to the startup ecosystem and a proven ability to identify and attract exceptional founders.
