Senior Platform Engineer, Security (AI)

Location: San Francisco Bay Area, California, United States; hybrid workplace

What you will do

• Build internal platform golden paths with the DevOps team for developer, deployment, AI, and data science workflows.
• Own Google Cloud security posture, including landing-zone guardrails, IAM, networking, secrets, and key management.
• Codify secure defaults and reusable self-service infrastructure with infrastructure as code.
• Evaluate application, infrastructure, and cloud attack surfaces and prioritize remediation by exploitability and blast radius.
• Define guardrails for internal AI coding tools and advise on security risks in product AI and LLM features.
• Improve security and compliance through risk-based implementation of SOC 2, ISO 27001, and ISO 27701 frameworks.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, or site reliability engineering.
• Strong Terraform and infrastructure-as-code experience building reusable platform patterns.
• Hands-on cloud experience, ideally Google Cloud, including IAM, networking, and least-privilege design.
• Production experience with Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
• Experience embedding SAST, SCA, secret scanning, and software supply-chain controls into CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong Python, Go, or similar programming and scripting skills, plus the ability to influence engineering teams without formal management authority.

Nice to have

• Experience building an internal developer platform or paved-road program from scratch.
• Knowledge of AI/LLM security risks and safe AI tooling practices.
• SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar compliance experience.
• Experience securing data warehouses or large data pipelines, with Snowflake experience as a plus.
• Familiarity with construction technology, BIM, 3D data, or other domain-rich data products.
