Senior Cloud Security Engineer - K8s

Location: New York, New York, USA; hybrid workplace

Salary: $187,000–$240,000 USD yearly, plus equity and possible variable compensation.

What you will do

• Solve complex cloud infrastructure security problems across core building blocks and secure engineering paths.
• Enable engineers to build and ship secure solutions efficiently.
• Build and extend Platform Security solutions.
• Partner with stakeholders and influence Datadog products to improve infrastructure security.
• Rotate through internal projects involving cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, service mesh, and AI-enabled security.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related scientific field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Prior experience in software engineering, systems engineering, network engineering, or cloud security.
• Production experience developing, deploying, and extending service mesh systems in Kubernetes environments.
• Software engineering background with hands-on code review experience and proficiency in Go, Python, or Rust.
• Experience with Kubernetes PKI or network technologies such as Consul, Envoy, Cilium, Vault, or Istio.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and Kubernetes.
