Staff Platform Security Engineer (Web3)

Staff Platform Security Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes): Building and delivering zero-trust foundations and secure-by-default infrastructure to enable safe shipping across cloud platforms with an accent on cloud hardening, automation, and infrastructure-as-code. Location: Required to be in person twice a week at the New York City, NY office

Salary: $168,000 - $240,000

What you will do

• Develop security services, tools, and automation using Python or Go.
• Implement security controls for AWS and Kubernetes environments via infrastructure-as-code.
• Create reusable libraries and frameworks for secure-by-default patterns.
• Build automated security monitoring, scanning, and remediation services.
• Develop CI/CD security gates and policy-as-code validation tools.
• Partner with engineering teams on architecture decisions and provide security consultation.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in the field.
• Strong production-level software development skills in Python or Go.
• Expertise in securing AWS (IAM, VPC, KMS) and Kubernetes (RBAC, Network Policies).
• Deep Terraform proficiency, including module development and CI/CD gates.
• Experience with distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and SRE principles.
• Must be able to work in person twice a week in New York City.

Nice to have

• Experience with GCP or Azure security services.
• Knowledge of policy-as-code tools like Open Policy Agent (OPA) or Sentinel.
• Experience with container security scanning and supply chain security.
• Background in cloud and container environment incident response.
• Experience with service mesh technologies and zero-trust networking.
