Sr. IT Engineer - Unified Communications (Microsoft Teams/Cisco)

Location: Somerset, New Jersey, USA; hybrid attendance required

Salary: $120,000–$170,000 annual base pay

What you will do

• Engineer, administer, and support Microsoft Teams, Teams Phone, Teams Rooms, Cisco CUCM, Unity Connection, and Webex platforms.
• Design hybrid and cloud collaboration architectures, including coexistence and migration strategies between Cisco Unified Communications and Microsoft Teams.
• Implement enterprise telephony, PSTN connectivity, Direct Routing, Operator Connect, SIP trunking, dial plans, call routing, and resiliency designs.
• Deploy and operate SBCs, troubleshoot SIP/RTP signaling and media issues, and coordinate telecom carrier integrations, number porting, outages, and service reviews.
• Maintain auto attendants, call queues, conference-room technologies, emergency calling, compliance controls, documentation, and ITSM change processes.
• Lead complex incident response and root-cause analysis while driving automation, modernization, and continuous improvement with PowerShell and APIs.

Requirements

• Must report to the Somerset, NJ location on a hybrid basis.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience engineering and supporting enterprise Unified Communications or VoIP platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Unified Communications, including CUCM, Unity, and Webex, as well as Microsoft Teams.
• Strong understanding of SIP, RTP, call routing, QoS, and voice troubleshooting methodologies.
• Experience supporting production, business-critical collaboration environments.

Nice to have

• Cisco Collaboration certifications such as CCNA or CCNP Collaboration, or Microsoft Teams/Voice certifications.
• Experience with Teams Phone, Direct Routing, Operator Connect, SBC platforms, Teams Rooms, Cisco room systems, or enterprise AV integrations.
• PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
• Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM operating models, Active Directory, LDAP, Puppet, KernelCare, Tenable, or Tanium.
