Research Scientist (3D Generative AI)

Location: Hybrid in Shanghai, Beijing, or Shenzhen; part-time onsite work may be expected at the Sunnyvale headquarters. Fully remote options are supported for exceptional candidates.

What you will do

• Design, train, and refine large-scale 3D generative foundation models across pre-training, post-training, diffusion, flow matching, and multimodal learning.
• Create novel model architectures that make 3D generation faster, higher-quality, and more controllable.
• Bridge research and product by deploying models into real products used by millions of creators, using human feedback and creative evaluation.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and systems teams on scalable training and data pipelines across GPU clusters and cloud environments.
• Build elegant, reproducible research software and share breakthroughs through demos, open-source contributions, or technical reports.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of transformer architecture and modern generative AI models, including diffusion, flow matching, and VAE.
• Strong Python and tensor programming skills, with experience using deep learning frameworks, preferably PyTorch.
• Ability to move between research prototypes and production systems and to translate high-level goals into concrete research and implementation steps.
• Curiosity and strong understanding of multimodal AI and how models perceive, represent, and generate 3D worlds.
• Self-directed, collaborative, clear in explaining complex technical ideas, and comfortable working under deadlines.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-performance training on large-scale infrastructure such as SLURM, Ray, or Kubernetes.
• Contributions to popular open-source machine learning projects or publications in top-tier computer vision and machine learning conferences.
