Senior Software Engineer, Platform (Cloud Platform)

Location: Greater Toronto Area; hybrid with two days per week in the Toronto office

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 annually, depending on experience and expertise; equity and comprehensive health and benefits are included.

What you will do

• Operate critical infrastructure across Azure and AWS, including Kubernetes, managed databases, and networking.
• Own observability practices covering metrics, logs, traces, alerting, and operational response.
• Build and evolve CI/CD orchestration, internal tooling, shared libraries, and automation.
• Support engineering teams with infrastructure, CI/CD, and access issues while converting recurring requests into self-service tooling.
• Drive cloud cost engineering through rightsizing, lifecycle policies, commitment decisions, and vendor management.
• Improve security, regulatory compliance, developer experience, and platform scalability across the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years developing and operating cloud-native services on Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Hands-on experience configuring and operating Kubernetes.
• Experience debugging production issues using traces, logs, Kubernetes events, and infrastructure state.
• Collaborative communication skills, strong ownership, and comfort solving ambiguous problems.
• Interest in AI-assisted tools across development, operations, and incident response.

Nice to have

• Go development, especially cloud-native REST APIs.
• Terraform or equivalent Infrastructure as Code experience.
• Observability tooling such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
• CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions or ArgoCD, plus MySQL or relational database administration.
• Linux administration, cloud best practices, security fundamentals, networking, DNS, or FinOps experience.
