Build Technician (Automotive)

Location: Woking, Surrey, United Kingdom; regular off-site UK and European travel, with occasional worldwide test support. Workshop, road, proving-ground, and racing-circuit work may be required.

What you will do

• Build concept, mule, prototype, and production-level vehicles and simulation rigs across multiple projects.
• Maintain and update vehicles and rigs throughout development programmes.
• Prepare and operate vehicles for testing and development at proving grounds, racing circuits, and other locations.
• Work with design and engineering staff to establish and achieve technical requirements, specifications, and targets.
• Interpret engineering drawings and instrumentation schedules to complete safe and accurate builds, modifications, and updates.
• Maintain and present the workshop and equipment to the required standards; drive high-value performance cars when the required internal driving standard is achieved.

Requirements

• Extensive experience building, assembling, and operating complete motorsport, prototype, low-volume, or high-performance vehicles.
• Clean driving licence and passport.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and instrumentation schedules.
• Ability to support unsocial hours and travel, including regular UK and European off-site testing.
• IT literacy, including Microsoft Office and Virtual Car.

Nice to have

• Welding, machining, and fabrication skills.
• Understanding of automotive electrical and electronic systems for fault finding and repair.
• Experience with MONaco, CANape, and INCA diagnostic platforms.
