Staff Software Developer, Services (Python)

Location: Remote across the United Kingdom; physical office in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

What you will do

• Design, build, and launch backend features and services that improve restaurant operations and customer experiences.
• Identify high-impact technical opportunities and develop solutions that deliver disproportionate value.
• Own initiatives from concept through production, collaborating with product, design, and engineering teams.
• Use Python with Flask as the primary stack while selecting other technologies, including Go, Ruby, and cloud services, when appropriate.
• Collaborate asynchronously with a distributed backend team across the US, UK, and Europe.
• Maintain service quality and performance through coding best practices, testing, monitoring, logging, alerting, and DevOps.

Requirements

• Strong experience building scalable backend systems with Python and Flask.
• Experience working with databases, cloud services, monitoring, and logging tools.
• Ability to learn and apply new programming languages and frameworks as needed.
• Ownership mindset with the ability to drive problems and projects end-to-end in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
• Experience collaborating effectively on distributed teams and communicating asynchronously across time zones.
• Product and customer focus, with the ability to contribute opinions on product direction and design.
