Location: Remote within the United States; occasional travel to company offsites or key meetings may be required. Candidates must already have authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
Base salary: $150,000β$200,000 annually.

What you will do
- Develop and test data extraction and integration software for structured EHR content, including XML and FHIR, and unstructured clinical documents.
- Plan, explain, and implement data curation projects for model-training datasets, taking the lead on dataset quality assurance.
- Tune and train LLMs and work with generative AI, transformer, and embedding models.
- Build de-identification solutions for PHI/PII-compliant processing of structured and unstructured EHR content.
- Develop performance tests and scientifically motivated data quality assessments for extraction and aggregation systems.
- Maintain code repositories, coordinate remote project work, and provide technical leadership in collaboration with Engineering and other groups.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Statistics, Biology, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of hands-on experience in data science, machine learning, AI, data analysis, software development, or predictive analytics.
- Expertise in generative AI and transformer models, especially LLM training and dataset curation.
- Strong coding experience with LLMs, embedding models, sentence-transformers, and Python for data extraction or classification tools.
- Experience parsing XML, JSON, or other complex data formats, preferably C-CDA health data; experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
- Experience with Git, unit and integration testing, data quality assessment, and senior technical development leadership.
Nice to have
- Experience with jq, xq, Unix command-line tools, Bash, regular expressions, and AWS.
- Experience with PHI, PII, HIPAA, and de-identification.
- Experience with multiple programming languages, open-source tools, LLM-assisted coding, and frontier or open models.
- Experience working with remote teams and solving technical communication challenges.
