AI-First Data Engineer

Location: Remote in Poland; fully remote or hybrid collaboration from the Warsaw office.

Salary: PLN 24,000–28,000 gross per month under an employment contract (UoP).

What you will do

• Build and optimize cloud-native ETL/ELT data pipelines and supporting infrastructure on AWS.
• Design and evolve data models for analytics, operational use cases, and AI/ML.
• Improve data reliability through governance, testing, and lineage.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to turn ambiguous business problems into robust data solutions.
• Evaluate data mesh patterns and emerging AI tooling for the platform.
• Grow into financial and regulatory reporting work where correctness and auditability are essential.

Requirements

• 3+ years of data engineering experience focused on data warehousing.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Experience using AI tools and reviewing and validating their output.
• Understanding of data architecture and modeling principles, including dimensional modeling, slowly changing dimensions, and incremental patterns.
• Hands-on experience with dbt on a cloud warehouse.
• Knowledge of relational databases and some exposure to DynamoDB or MongoDB; excellent written and verbal English.

Nice to have

• AWS experience with Redshift, EMR, Glue, S3, or IAM; GCP or Azure experience is also welcome.
• Experience with streaming or CDC technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, or Debezium, or with data mesh.
• Experience building pipelines for ML or AI systems.
• Exposure to financial, payments, or regulated reporting data.
• German language skills for stakeholder collaboration.
