Data Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Kraków, Poland. Hybrid working model with 3 days in the office.

What you will do

• Design and build robust batch and real-time data pipelines on GCP using Kafka, BigQuery, and Airflow.
• Own data quality by implementing data contracts, quality checks, observability instrumentation, and SLA monitoring.
• Develop and maintain in-house connectors and third-party integrations across the ingestion estate.
• Contribute to code reviews, dbt modelling standards, CI/CD hygiene, and change control for shared datasets.
• Support feature engineering and model data pipelines while enabling lineage, reproducibility, and freshness for AI and machine-learning workloads.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience building and operating production-grade data pipelines on GCP with BigQuery, Cloud Composer/Airflow, GCS, and Cloud Run.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Experience with Apache Kafka or equivalent streaming technologies and event-driven ingestion patterns.
• Familiarity with dbt and Medallion architecture patterns.
• Experience with data contracts, lineage tracking, observability tooling, and pipeline SLO monitoring.
• Understanding of data governance requirements and change control in a regulated financial services environment.
