Director of Software Development, Developer Experience (Kubernetes)

What you will do

• Lead multiple engineering teams and engineering managers within the Developer Experience organisation.
• Oversee internal developer platforms, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, developer tooling, and observability.
• Define technical strategy, prioritise platform investments, and deliver large cross-functional initiatives.
• Provide technical direction, make architectural decisions, and improve software development, deployment, and operational efficiency.
• Coach engineering managers and senior engineers while partnering with Product, Security, Infrastructure, and engineering leadership.
• Measure and improve engineering effectiveness using deployment frequency, lead time, reliability, and developer satisfaction metrics.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading multiple engineering teams or engineering managers in a fast-growing technology organisation.
• Strong technical background in backend systems, cloud infrastructure, or platform engineering.
• Experience building and scaling internal developer platforms, engineering tooling, or infrastructure organisations.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes, AWS, Docker, and modern CI/CD practices.
• Experience defining engineering strategy, setting technical direction, and delivering cross-functional initiatives.
• Exceptional communication, coaching, mentoring, and stakeholder-influence skills.
