Digital News Editor, Successful Farming (Agriculture)

Location: Hybrid in Des Moines, Iowa, with in-office work three days per week and remote work permitted up to two days per week.

What you will do

• Write accurate, timely articles covering breaking agricultural news and new farm equipment launches.
• Coordinate with the news and editorial team on daily coverage.
• Update the Agriculture.com homepage, publish social media content, produce short social videos, and send the daily newsletter.
• Use analytics and digital publishing best practices to guide distribution decisions.
• Edit and publish freelance and partner articles in line with Successful Farming's editorial style and optimize content for Google Discover.
• Travel to industry news events and new product launches, with approximately 15% travel required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Agricultural Communications, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of writing experience.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to follow editorial guidelines and strategic templates consistently.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and articles simultaneously.
• Interest in or background in agriculture.

Nice to have

• Experience with social media.
• Experience using a content management system.
