Content Producer (Broadcast News)

Location: Onsite in West Hartford, Connecticut, United States; overnight position with availability for 24x7 shifts, weekends, and holidays.

What you will do

• Produce, write, and edit news segments for NBC Connecticut broadcast and digital platforms.
• Develop compelling newscasts through headline storytelling and innovative content presentation.
• Collaborate with journalists and an experienced editorial team on local news coverage.
• Generate story ideas based on the NBC Connecticut news strategy and current events.
• Participate in long-form projects for streaming services.
• Fill in as a producer for other NBC Connecticut newscasts when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Basic editing skills using non-linear editing programs.
• Strategic thinking, research, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
• Unrestricted work authorization in the United States and willingness to work onsite at the station are required.
