VP/Senior Director, Clinical Operations (Biotechnology)

What you will do

• Lead clinical trial execution through protocol development, CRO selection and management, and trial startup across the US, Australia/New Zealand, EU, and UK.
• Collaborate with clinical development to optimize trial design, patient benefit, and information gained per dollar.
• Own company-wide clinical trial timelines and budgets while building operational metrics and reporting systems.
• Resolve recruitment, cross-border logistics, regulatory compliance, and staffing challenges during trial execution.
• Build and manage the clinical operations team as its founding member.
• Support regulatory submissions and ongoing global compliance obligations.

Requirements

• 10+ years of industry experience in clinical operations.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in the life sciences.
• Experience orchestrating clinical trials through CRO partners with accountability for operational delivery.
• Recent experience managing first-in-human trials and trials across the US, Australia, New Zealand, EU, UK, and Japan.
• Quantitative mindset with experience tracking metrics and driving measurable improvements.
• Experience managing clinical trial budgets, forecasts, and resource planning.

Nice to have

• Recent experience coordinating first-in-human trials in Australia and New Zealand.
• Experience in metabolic disease and hepatology trials.
• Experience recruiting a clinical operations team on a short timeline.
• Experience developing nucleic acid medicines, including mRNA, ASO, and siRNA, and LNP-vectored products.
