Senior Software Engineer (Cryptography)

Location: Remote within the UK, France, Netherlands, Spain, or Belgium; occasional travel to company offices is required. Flexible and hybrid working is also available.

hirify.global is a deep-tech cybersecurity startup developing post-quantum cryptography and secure semiconductor technologies.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and test classical and post-quantum cryptographic primitives for secure embedded software.
• Develop and integrate cryptographic solutions on FPGA, ARM, RISC-V, and hardware cryptographic coprocessor platforms.
• Harden implementations against side-channel analysis, fault injection, and other physical or logical attacks.
• Integrate cryptographic software with GlobalPlatform, ARM Platform Security Architecture, Linux Kernel drivers, and related APIs.
• Collaborate with cryptographers, security engineers, hardware, verification, and platform security teams to review and validate implementations.
• Perform security-focused code reviews, static and dynamic analysis, benchmarking, optimization, threat modeling, and risk assessments.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field, with a strong background in cryptography or computer security.
• Proficiency in C and Assembly for resource-constrained, bare-metal environments.
• Familiarity with classical and post-quantum cryptographic algorithms, NIST PQC candidates, NIST publications, and FIPS compliance requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to work remotely from the UK, France, Netherlands, Spain, or Belgium, with occasional travel to offices.

Nice to have

• Experience with Rust, secure coding practices, and countermeasures against implementation attacks.
• Understanding of timing, power, and EM side-channel attacks, fault attacks, and mitigation strategies.
• Experience with FIPS 140-3, SESIP, PSA Certified, or Common Criteria security certification frameworks.
• Ability to read and implement specifications from cryptographic research papers.
• At least two years of professional cryptographic software engineering experience.
