Member of Technical Staff - Security Engineering (AI)

What you will do

• Shape the security architecture of device, board, chassis, and rack controllers through threat models, trust boundaries, and secure-by-design mechanisms.
• Design and build secure boot, roots of trust, verified and measured boot, signing and verification, anti-rollback protections, and production debug controls.
• Secure controller, device, and host interconnects with authentication, integrity protection, and resilient protocols.
• Build cryptographic mechanisms for key hierarchies, provisioning, storage, device identity, and remote attestation.
• Make firmware updates safe through signed images, staged rollout, rollback protection, and recovery across the full control chain.
• Harden the host Linux kernel and on-die firmware while collaborating with architecture, hardware, and software teams on reviews, vulnerabilities, and fixes.

Requirements

• Practical experience with secure boot, roots of trust, cryptography, and key management across software and silicon.
• Strong threat-modeling skills, including analysis of trust boundaries, assets, attacks, and residual risk.
• Experience designing secure protocols and authenticated channels between system components.
• Strong C and Rust skills, with a focus on memory safety and defensive low-level coding.
• Experience building security mechanisms such as secure-boot chains, key hierarchies, or attestation flows.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement in London or Bristol.

Nice to have

• Experience with boot and runtime attestation, DICE, IETF RATS, SPDM, MCTP, PLDM, or TDISP.
• Knowledge of HSMs, TPMs, secure elements, Caliptra, secure debug, open firmware, or Linux image minimisation.
• Experience with SBOM, SLSA, fuzzing, security standards, physical security, or side-channel resistance.
• Experience with AI-assisted security tooling, RISC-V, GPUs, or ML accelerators.
