RF Embedded Software Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Redondo Beach, United States. Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an export license under applicable U.S. export regulations.

Salary: $130,000–$280,000 per year, plus potential stock options and benefits.

What you will do

• Define and implement RF software communications requirements for individual space missions.
• Design RF software architectures and bring up flight RF systems.
• Develop RF digital signal-processing and calibration algorithms.
• Design and optimize RF system-control algorithms for performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with ground software teams to develop and test satellite-to-ground data pipelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 2 years of experience developing software for wireless systems in critical applications.
• At least 2 years of experience writing embedded C/C++ code.
• Experience working with RF laboratory equipment, including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and software-defined radios.
• Proficiency in testing and troubleshooting complex mixed-signal boards and RF components such as PAs, PLLs, LNAs, and mixers.
• Must satisfy U.S. export-control requirements as a U.S. Person or be eligible to obtain an export license.

Nice to have

• Xilinx UltraScale+ board bring-up and development experience.
• Baseband software experience with PSK, GFSK, or APSK systems.
• Experience with DVB-S2, CCSDS, GNU Radio, or space-environment software and firmware.
• Startup or agile development experience.
