Senior Backend Engineer (AI)

Location: Seattle, WA; hybrid workplace

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable, reliable backend services for a cloud-native SaaS platform.
• Own core architecture components, including distributed systems and cloud-native workflows.
• Build fault-tolerant systems that process and manage large-scale data with low latency.
• Optimize system performance and cost-efficiency in cloud environments.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end features.
• Review code, mentor peers, and contribute to engineering best practices.

Requirements

• 3–9 years of backend development experience with Java, C++, Golang, or similar languages.
• Strong understanding of systems design, distributed computing, and cloud architectures.
• Experience building production-grade software in fast-paced environments.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills across the stack.
• High ownership, self-direction, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
• Comfort working with cross-functional teams and building scalable products.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or other cloud data warehouses.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Experience building SaaS platforms and working with large-scale datasets.
• Open-source contributions or active involvement in developer communities.
