TL;DR
Senior Fabric Data Engineer (Microsoft Fabric/Azure): Designing and developing scalable data platforms, pipelines, lakehouses, and data warehouses with an accent on PySpark, SQL, orchestration, and secure real-time data operations. Focus on optimizing production pipelines, implementing CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code, enforcing data governance, and contributing to architectural decisions.
Location: Penang 15, Penang, Malaysia; Shift 1 (Malaysia)

What you will do
- Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, PySpark, and SQL.
- Architect and implement lakehouse and data warehouse solutions on Microsoft Fabric.
- Develop ETL/ELT workflows, complex queries, stored procedures, and data orchestration processes.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, business analysts, and engineers to ensure efficient data delivery and model readiness.
- Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot production pipelines using CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Enforce data quality, governance, security, and compliance standards while mentoring junior engineers.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering with strong knowledge of cloud data platforms.
- Proficiency in PySpark, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, SQL, and Microsoft Fabric or similar unified analytics platforms.
- Strong understanding of data engineering principles, data modeling, data warehousing, and lakehouse architectures.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and deployment automation tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across technical and business teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with Delta Lake, Synapse Analytics, and other Azure analytics services.
- Knowledge of Terraform, ARM templates, or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Microsoft certifications in Azure Data Engineering or Fabric.
- Experience implementing data observability and lineage tools such as Unity Catalog or Purview.
