AI Research Intern (AI)

Location: Mountain View, United States; hybrid remote/on-site internship with 3 days per week required and 4+ days preferred

Base salary: $25–$28 per hour

What you will do

• Research and develop deep learning models for computer vision, video enhancement, speech and audio, multimodal understanding, generation, and LLM post-training.
• Build AI-powered product features by integrating foundation models through prompt engineering, context engineering, RAG frameworks, and agent workflows.
• Design scalable evaluation pipelines and domain-specific benchmarks for multimodal AI systems using automated and task-specific quality metrics.
• Reproduce state-of-the-art research and translate emerging advances into production-ready systems.
• Collaborate with AI researchers, engineers, and product teams to prototype and ship capabilities across hirify.global, AgentOpus, and next-generation AI products.
• Own projects from research and experimentation through production deployment.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completing a Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of Transformer architectures, attention mechanisms, and generative model families such as GANs, diffusion models, and autoregressive models.
• Strong Python programming skills, with familiarity with Linux development environments, Git, and data structures.
• Familiarity with video or audio processing fundamentals, including codecs, ffmpeg, or signal processing.
• Fluent English with strong technical reading and writing skills, including the ability to read research papers and write technical documentation.
• Availability for a hybrid internship with at least 3 on-site days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with low-level computer vision, speech enhancement, voice cloning, voice generation, or LLM fine-tuning with SFT, RLHF, DPO, LoRA, or PEFT.
• Experience building agent systems or LLM-powered product features with frontier-model APIs.
• TypeScript familiarity and open-source contributions.
• Interest in academic research and publications in venues such as CVPR, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ICASSP, ACL, or EMNLP.
