Enterprise Application Architect (FedRAMP)

What you will do

• Document current architecture and design future-state target architectures aligned with business objectives.
• Drive the technical architecture for FedRAMP authorization, including system boundaries, compliant components, remediation, and audit findings.
• Design branching, merging, feature-toggle, and release strategies for parallel commercial and government environments.
• Architect scalable, low-latency video and telephony integrations, API strategies, data flows, and interoperability patterns.
• Guide modernization across microservices and monolithic architectures while improving performance, scalability, stability, and security.
• Mentor senior developers and technical leads and communicate architectural trade-offs to executive and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in an enterprise architecture role.
• Hands-on experience architecting software for FedRAMP authorization and government cloud environments such as AWS GovCloud or Azure Government.
• Deep knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP architectures, API gateways, microservices, source control strategies, deployment pipelines, video and telephony integrations, and data modeling in Ruby on Rails.
• Experience with boundary isolation, FedRAMP Moderate or High, DoD SRG, HIPAA, PHI protection, GDPR, CCPA, Zero Trust, and IAM.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience influencing executive leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Familiarity or hands-on experience with AI/ML architecture and large language model integrations.
• Experience with Agile, SAFe, CI/CD, DevOps, disaster recovery, business continuity, proof-of-concept development, buy-versus-build analysis, and vendor evaluation.
