Senior Fullstack Engineer (Fintech)

Location: New York City, United States (hybrid); work from hirify.global's New York office with the option to work remotely 2–3 days per week.

Annual base salary: $170,000–$190,000, excluding additional compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Evolve APIs supporting user flows and integrate third-party APIs for millions of customers.
• Build and scale web and mobile features using React, React Native, and TypeScript alongside Java backend services.
• Optimize SQL queries and relational database schemas, including migrations and analytical queries.
• Implement algorithms for monetary transaction evaluation, risk management, income verification, and predictive models.
• Improve internal automations and customer-facing products to reduce customer support workload.
• Automate visual testing and regression detection while improving CI/CD, monitoring, and application availability.

Requirements

• 6+ years of industry experience as a software engineer.
• Experience developing REST-based services and APIs, primarily with Java.
• Experience building end-to-end UI/UX features with React or React Native.
• Strong understanding of modern JavaScript standards, including ES6 and TypeScript.
• Experience with SQL databases, schema design, migrations, and analytical queries.
• Ability to own features across frontend and backend, work independently, and manage multiple projects.

Nice to have

• GraphQL experience.
• Kubernetes, Docker, or other container-system experience.
• Quantitative or finance knowledge.
• Experience leading teams or mentoring junior engineers.

Hiring process

• Technical interviews covering Java, testing and debugging, system design, and service architecture.
• Team behavioral interview, a 2–4 hour React take-home project, and a follow-up review of the project.
