Location: Nairobi, Kenya preferred, or remote within ±4 hours of EAT with extensive travel to Nairobi and Apollo’s other markets

What you will do
- Own acquisition credit strategy, including approval decisions, credit limits, pricing, product structure, and profitability.
- Partner with Product, Commercial, Growth, Engineering, and Finance to align credit strategy with business milestones.
- Build monitoring and learning systems with dashboards, controls, automated triggers, experiments, and impact assessments.
- Lead fraud and data-verification strategy and operations, including rules, detection processes, SOPs, incentives, performance management, and quality.
- Spend regular time in the field with farmers, agrodealers, field officers, and verification agents to improve the credit offering.
- Coach and develop the credit and verification team while adapting to a fast-changing business.
Requirements
- 4–7 years of experience in credit, risk, strategy, analytics, product, financial services, or consulting, including exposure to lending risk.
- Strong analytical skills, including SQL and dashboard tools.
- Experience turning ambiguous business problems into policies and shipped solutions.
- Experience collaborating across functions, influencing without formal authority, and leading teams.
- Degree in a quantitative or analytical discipline such as engineering, statistics, mathematics, or economics.
- Based in Nairobi or willing to travel extensively to Apollo’s markets; remote work must be within ±4 hours of EAT.
Nice to have
- Direct experience designing and optimizing credit policies or fraud frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with AI tools and AI-assisted workflows.
