What you will do
- Own quality governance for external JDM manufacturing partners, including FPY baselines, automated dashboards, thresholds, and gating metrics.
- Translate internal R&D specifications into manufacturing Control Plans with clear cosmetic and functional quality requirements.
- Lead quality reviews, 8D investigations, root-cause analysis, and permanent data-backed CAPA implementation.
- Manage line setup and site qualification, validating critical tooling, fixtures, and testing stations while preventing critical quality escapes.
- Partner with internal R&D and manufacturing engineering teams to apply DFX, DFM, and DFA principles during design reviews.
- Stabilize new production lines by resolving assembly bottlenecks and improving FPY within 4 to 6 weeks of setup.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience working with external manufacturing partners and JDMs.
- Strong practical knowledge of PFMEA, fixture design, Gage R&R, limit samples, control plans, and quality auditing.
- Ability to translate ambiguous engineering specifications into objective, operator-ready manufacturing requirements.
- Advanced manufacturing data analysis skills, including yield trends and production risk identification.
- Ability to influence factory engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
- Willingness to work directly with production lines and travel to manufacturing sites when necessary.
